Job Summary

Position prepares, reviews, and submits accurate and timely invoices for grants, contracts, and program services, ensuring compliance with funder and payer requirements while maintaining detailed billing records and supporting effective revenue collection. Position supports the financial health of the organization through grant billing compliance and procedural diligence.
Job Purpose

Position ensures accurate, compliant and timely billing that supports the organization’s financial sustainability and ability to deliver mission-focused services and programming.
Essential Functions

Essential functions are the primary duties/main job responsibilities that an incumbent must be able to perform, with or without accommodation. Key Accountabilities include billing preparation and submission, documentation and compliance, revenue tracking and issue resolution, and data integrity and reporting.
Job Factors

Minimum Education Level Required: Associate’s degree or professional certification in accounting. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other closely related field preferred. Professional experience may be substituted for minimum education requirements.

Minimum Experience Level Required: Minimum one to three years related professional accounting or finance experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), billing practices, and AR processes.
• Knowledge of nonprofit or grant billing requirements, including supporting documentation and grantfocused audit expectations.
• Solid analytical and problemsolving skills to research discrepancies and solve billing issues.
• Ability to accurately process numerical and financial data, including invoices, receipts and reconciliations, with a high degree of attention to detail.
• Proficiency in data entry and managing large volumes of billing data efficiently.
• Ability to review, classify, and analyze billing information and supporting documentation, identifying errors and noncompliance.
• Understanding of nonprofit financial policies, funding requirements, and basic grant accounting concepts.
• Growing proficiency with computerized accounting systems, software and spreadsheets such as Excel, QuickBooks, and data management tools.
• Strong organizational and timemanagement abilities to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with funders, payers, and internal staff.
• Basic project management skills and abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with Finance and program teams.
• Ability to exercise professional discretion and independent judgment, applying ethical standards, logic and discretion in managing sensitive information.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and external agencies.

Frequent performance of position duties while standing, walking and while in motion and manipulating medical devices and other equipment.

Frequent computer use at a workstation up to two hours or more at a time.

Frequently fast-paced work with unscheduled interruptions.

Work may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime and evening/weekend hours in order to meet patient care demands.

Public contact position requiring clinic-appropriate apparel and use of personal protective equipment.
