Job Description

Salary: $50k - 55k per year + bonus

A well-established financial institution is seeking an Collections Specialist to support its SBA Portfolio Management team. This role is responsible for client communication, account resolution, and ensuring timely and compliant servicing of SBA-related accounts.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, bilingual, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, regulated banking environment.

Responsibilities
• Handle inbound client calls regarding account inquiries, concerns,
• Assist clients with online banking registration, access issues, password resets, and wire support while adhering to identity verification protocols
• Conduct required client call-backs to ensure security and confidentiality standards are met
• Resolve complex client issues and ensure timely completion in accordance with established service level standards
• Perform follow-up on time-sensitive matters to meet SLA goals
• Escalate issues appropriately when necessary
• Assist with tracking and maintaining accurate client data
• Support client email inquiries and secure messaging platforms
• Collect and negotiate payments with clients as required
• Document client interactions while navigating multiple systems
• Complete required annual compliance and regulatory training
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
• Minimum 1+ year of experience in a customer service or call center environment, preferably within banking
• Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Basic knowledge of State and Federal banking compliance regulations
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (fluency required in speaking, reading, and writing)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Commitment to compliance and adherence to institutional policies and procedures
